The Medical Referral Service has a team of trained medical personnel available to give information and recommendations 24 hours a day.
The MRS team regularly visits the medical facilities recommended in this chapter. These visits and feedback from foreigners using the services maintain the quality of the information supplied. While the MRS does its best to assist with service information and referrals, the service is unable to provide actual medical care.

General Information
Medical facilities in Korea, especially in Seoul, are generally of a high standard. Practices, however, may be slightly different than those in your home country. English is spoken at clinics and hospitals recommended by the MRS although language difficulties may sometimes and concerns can help with any misunderstanding.
Payment at most hospitals can be made by credit card. The price of a routine visit is between 30,000 and 50,000 won. If you are travelling in the countryside, you should carry enough cash to cover any medical emergencies. Medical insurance cards are not recognized as a form of prepayment.
Identification is required when visiting a hospital. You are advised to take your passport and Korean residency card.
